Purpose

The purpose of this club is to bring the people interested in Koi together in an organization to increase the general knowledge of and interest in the collecting, growing, breeding, showing and using in landscape and garden pools genus carp in all their forms and to serve as a clearing house for collecting and disseminating information about koi. To engage in educational and social activities related to the hobby and to acquire and own such property as may be necessary for any or all of the foregoing purposes.

 

Club Information

Our meetings are normally held on the third Saturday of each month. Always check the calendar for any changes. The meetings are held at club members’ homes in the South Sound area. We welcome anyone with an interest in Koi or water gardens hobbies. We have an educational program at each monthly meeting. We also put on a Young Koi Show every year and we have a summer picnic and Christmas party. When possible we also have Koi auctions and or sales that benefit the club. The club belongs to both the Pacific Northwest Koi Club Association (PNKCA) and the Associated Koi Clubs of America (AKCA). 

 

Club History

The Puget Sound Koi Club resides in the South Sound area of Washington State. It was founded by Ed Fujimoto in 1984. The club was formed to provide an informal and social avenue for sharing information about caring for and maintaining Koi and about creating and maintaining ponds and water gardens. Members live in the surrounding area and cities and towns of the South Sound to include Auburn, Belfair, Bremerton, Lakewood, Olympia, Port Orchard, Spanaway and Tacoma.
